THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

Therapeutic Massage is a form of therapy used to treat people suffering from aches and pains caused by a variety of reasons. Work injuries, motor vehicle accidents, falls, the effects of aging or overdoing it on the weekends by gardening, golfing or fixing up around the house can make us suffer from painful joints, muscle spasms and overall aches and pains.

One of the least recognized, but pervasive reasons for body aches, pain and muscle spasms can be stress. On the job, activities of daily living, financial worries, or family illness are just a few reasons we can be stressed and stress can manifest itself in many ways.  Massage therapy can help. It can relieve the tightness in muscles, bring increased blood flow to painful joints, reduce inflammation and impart a feeling of well-being and calm.

The therapist can affect the blood flow in the body and the flow of the lymphatic system, making it an invaluable tool in the treatment of lymphedema for women who have had or have breast cancer, and can increase the release of endorphins, the body’s natural pain killer. This slow, smooth manipulation encourages relaxation, unknots muscles and calms spasms.

Our Nationally Certified Massage Therapists are trained in many types of massage such as Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular, Myofascial Release, Pre-Natal and Oncology.  They will use the type of treatment best suited to your specific needs.
